Most teaching opportunities do not require certification; however, certification can strengthen your application. Special Education and Physical Education roles do require certification in the state in which you are applying.
IDEA Public Schools is a Public Charter School that believes that each and every child can go to college. Since 2000, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a small school with 150 students to the fastest-growing network of tuition-free, Pre-K-12 public charter schools in the United States. Currently, IDEA Public Schools in the Rio Grande Valley serve communities from Rio Grande City to Brownsville.
Yes! In Texas, all full-time staff are automatically enrolled in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and currently contribute 7.7% of wages. In Louisiana, we offer a 403(b) that staff members may contribute to.
It depends on the role – but previous teaching experience is always highly preferred, and required for any roles involving the management of teachers or instruction.
